In the anime, Yoji and Kei put fantastical
zippers to myriad uses. Their nifty tools
stretch, shrink and emit light, performing an
astounding array of functions, but some of
them are in fact true-to-life features of YKK
zippers. Here we present the original technology and products upon which the
zippers in the anime are based.

  A zipper that moves automatically?

  

  The third film featured an automatic zipper that is currently under development. In the near future, we may use zippers in new ways, like controlling or automating their movement via apps from far away. That would be amazing!

  click-TRAK®

  

  Oscar’s clothing featured the click-TRAK®, a zipper currently under development that can be easily zipped up with one hand. The zipper will be useful in situations when only one hand is free.
